We are a short drive to the airport, restaurants, and nightlife of Omaha--about 25 minutes by highway-- but you will feel like you are worlds away from the city while at our property! While in Fort Calhoun, be sure to check out Fort Atkinson State Historical Park--40 acre park rich in Lewis and Clark history and one of Nebraska's earliest settlements. On your way to our property you will pass Super Bee Orchard--be sure to stop for a homemade pie, fresh peaches or apples, and local honey!!! Welcome to the Leshara Lodge! Located less than 30 minutes from Omaha, we offer a quiet getaway from the noise of the city. Our guest house is secluded in the woods and located on body of water literally just out the front door. The Platte River is less than a half mile walk. A fisherman and bird-watchers dream - actually, a dream for anyone who loves nature! Our guest house was fully remodeled in 2019. At 900 sqft, it's the perfect size for couples or a family with two kids (there is a queen bed and a full sized air mattress available). You'll have access to a private gas grill, and the kitchenette comes supplied with a full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric griddle (perfect for breakfasts!), glasses, plates and utensils. While we don't supply a full breakfast, coffee and a coffee maker are furnished - there is nothing better out here than having a hot cup outside in the morning. For extra security, there is a gate you'll have to enter to gain access to the guest house. The guest code will be given to you before you arrive at the property. In addition, there are security camera's around the property. Please note, there are no camera's inside the guest house itself. We love the outdoors and want to share it with you! With your stay you'll have full access to fishing (in three different bodies of water - the warm water slough located right outside the guest house; in the Platter River, which is a quick 10 minute walk; or in a pond located right next to the river), canoeing, walking in nature, and the Platte River (for lounging on a sandbar OR casting a line!). Our guest house is located on 50+ acres, so there is plenty of room to roam! Enjoy wildlife?? Here are just *some* of our regular visitors: deer, turkey, mink, fox, Canadian Geese (we have 22 locals who live in the water off the guest house), Baltimore Orioles, hummingbirds, and many other variety of birds. Bow-fishing is another popular activity out here. They aren t here all the time because I have joint custody with my ex :-) I live upstairs and I work from home so I am here quite a bit of the time (unless I m playing tennis). Please ensure all trash has been put in appropriate containers inside the home, any excessive trash has been taken to the bin outside. Do not throw loose trash in outside trash can. Please be respectful of our furniture and do allow eating on it as we want to keep it in good condition for all of our guests. We do not charge a cleaning fee to keep our guests cost down, however if the house is left disorderly or dirty please expect to receive a cleaning charge after your stay if we deem it necessary. We have a large walkout basement with two bedrooms, large living area, dining area with bar (coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, small Pizza oven, popcorn machine), TV room, private entry, with walkout to inground pool and fire pit/patio area. Pool table, Foosball, darts, and slot machines add to the fun! Additional bathroom is available upon request as is laundry facilities. Lower level ONLY is $100/day up to 4 guests. Total home rental is available with approval (rate goes up $200/day) (We do NOT offer monthly rental.). That will offer up two more bedrooms and two more bathrooms. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and TVs hooked up to cable. We have a covered deck with a grill and the deck also has celing fan and shade blinds. In the summer we also have a TV out there. We do expect ONLY the people you book for in our home. We do not allow any gatherings, etc. in our house, yard, or pool. We adhere to this policy. Any additional guests other than booked are not allowed. Should additional guests be present, you will be asked to leave immediately with NO refund of any monies, including surrending damage deposit. Maximum number of guests is 8 (4 for lower level). We have an in ground pool. We expect our guests to treat it with care and respect. We do not allow "pool parties". The number of guests you book for is all that is to be using our pool. Damages or excess mess will be taken from the damage deposit and/or possible litigation. Other outside guests put your stay in jeopardy. Our neighbors are VERY informative and more guests than booked for is just cause for the owner(s) to ask you to leave with no refund of your money. We are not your "party pool". We do charge a $300 damage deposit which is refundable after 14 days if no damages are present at the time of check out. We do charge $250 cleaning fee for whole house rental, $100 cleaning fee for renting the lower level only. Check in is 5pm. Check out is 11am. We do charge a 17.5% sales and lodging tax. Sorry. It's the law. No Pets or smoking or monthly rentals. We do not allow candles, incense, etc or any open flames in our home. Off street parking is offered. We do not allow use of our garage. Home is owned by two 60 year olds who like a clean home, clean pool, and beautiful yard. Our back yard is fenced in with a privacy fence and locked gates. Summertime grilling offered as well as relaxation at the outdoor lighted tikibar and plenty of seating around the pool. Family's are welcome, maximum of 8. We do not furnish, food, alcohol, beverages, or laundry products. We ask that you do not use any of our personal items/products. House rules available on request via text, email, or fax.
